Bert Jones

One of Merthyr Tydfil's famous footballing dynasty Bertrand Jones played for Merthyr Tydfil FC and Southend United before the Second World War. He was a talented player who had attracted the attention of Aston Villa but with the outbreak of the war was posted to Burma with the South Wales Borderers. Sadly he was killed in action.
