Colin Jackson

From Ffaith

Cardiff born Colin Jackson is the most bemedalled athlete in British history. He has won two World titles at 110m hurdles, 4 European crowns and two Commonwealth golds. He set a world record for the 110 metres hurdles (12.91s) in the 1993 World Championships final in Stuttgart taking the title with it. It was a record he was to hold for 13 years. He still holds the world record at 60m indoor hurdles at the time of writing (Dec 2006). He took the 110m hurdles silver in the Seoul Olympics

He was awarded an OBE in 1989 and a CBE in 2003.
