Collapse of the church
From Ffaith
Owing to a faulty cornerstone, the church of St. John in Barmouth, Wales, crashed in ruins a minute after it was finished. It was rebuilt, and the new edifice has endured to the present day.
The church was built thanks to a lady of the neighbourhood, Mrs. Dyson Perrins who showed a truly christian spirit by subscribing fifteen thousand pounds, a sum equal to three-quarters of the whole cost for its building.
