Cwmparc

From Ffaith

Cwmparc snippets

Early legends tell of a medieval park, or hunting preserve in the area called Parc Cwm Brychiniog. The park was subsequently divided into four farms during the Tudor period. One of the farms was called Parc Uchaf and another Parc Isaf. The area became known as Cwmparc (Park Valley). With the introduction of coal mining in the 19th Century the village that subsequently sprang up also became known as Cwmparc.
