Largest Iron Age Fort

From Ffaith

On the slopes of Yr Eifl in the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, overlooking the Irish Sea is the largest Iron Age fort in northwest Europe. Tre'r Ceiri (town of giants), 400 metres above sea level, is a settlement of considerable remains of 150 stone huts constructed around 200 BC. There is evidence to suggest that the fort was still occupied at the time of the Roman invasions of Britain some 300 years later. The stone wall surrounding the fort is still as high as four metres in parts.
