Mark Williams (snooker)

Snooker player, Mark Williams was born in Cwm in South Wales on 21 March 1975. He has been the World Snooker Champion on two occasions, 2000 when he beat fellow Welshman Matthew Stevens and 2003 narrowly beating Ken Doherty 18-16 after leading 10-2 at one stage. He was the first left handed World Champion in the history of the game. He was awarded the MBE in 2004. To date the ' 'Welsh Potting Machine' ' has won 16 World ranking titles and grossed over £3.4m in prize money.
