The music of Aberystwyth born composer Michael J. Lewis accompanied the tribute to those Hollywood greats who had died during the past year at the 1998 Academy Awards ceremony - better known as the Oscars.

Lewis has composed music for many outstanding films, among them Charlton Heston's Julius Caesar, The Medusa Touch, with Richard Burton and Lee Remick, and Theatre of Blood, with Vincent Price and Diana Rigg. He has also produced music for the theatre, television and commercials, receiving a Grammy nomination for his collaboration with the late Anthony Burgess on the Broadway musical Cyrano and an Emmy award for his score for the animated film, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
